The opening ceremony of the Pakistan Navy’s major maritime exercise SEASPARK-22 was conducted in Karachi. The biannual exercise examines war preparation & verifies operational plans of the Pakistan Navy against the projected danger spectrum, notably in the maritime areas. Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi, attended the ceremony as Chief Guest.
In the opening comments, the Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Operations) delivered the overview of the exercise. He stressed that problems of grey-hybrid warfare and modern strategic environment need a response from Pakistan Navy. He also underlined variables impinging upon the nature and character of combat in the current environment, warranting ongoing analysis of the environment and review of current strategies.
He maintained that Pakistan Navy is battle-ready and fully mindful of its obligation to preserve national maritime interests throughout peace and conflict times. He underlined that exercise SEASPARK-22 would offer fuel to Pakistan’s aim of sustaining peace and stability by creating a safe and sustainable marine environment in the area.
The drill SEASPARK-22 will be performed in the Arabian Sea near Pakistan Coast. All naval platforms/ assets of Pakistan Navy, Special Forces & Pak Marines detachments along with the other units of Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA), Pak Army and Pakistan Air Force would take part in the exercise.
The Exercise is being attended by members of Ministries of Defence, Maritime Affairs, Interior and National Security Division.
