PTI Founder
ISLAMABAD: In an exclusive interview on Saturday, Rana Sanaullah, the Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs, made a noteworthy revelation, expressing that he no longer harbors animosity towards PTI founder Imran Khan.
Sanaullah conveyed a sense of regret that despite his willingness to engage in dialogue, Khan remained unyielding.
Acknowledging Khan’s political significance despite past disagreements, Sanaullah emphasized the importance of negotiation.
He underscored the inevitability of coexistence between political rivals, asserting, “Neither can we eliminate the PTI founder nor can he eliminate us.”
However, he lamented Khan’s reluctance to embrace dialogue, a sentiment echoed in Sanaullah’s previous offers for reconciliation.
Sanaullah raised pertinent questions about the need for resistance when the establishment is prepared to facilitate dialogue, particularly in matters concerning the Special Investment Facilitation Committee (SIFC).
He attributed the survival of the Pakistan Democratic Movement-led (PDM) government over 16 months to Khan’s decision to resign from parliament, suggesting a correlation between political decisions and their ramifications.
Furthermore, Sanaullah critiqued Khan’s approach to governance, attributing economic instability to political unrest.
He criticized Khan’s perceived nonchalant attitude towards negotiation within the parliamentary system, deeming it a threat to the stability of the democratic framework.
Addressing the issue of political figures facing legal challenges, Sanaullah called for accountability, urging those in hiding to come forward.
He also expressed admiration for the patience displayed by PTI President Parvez Elahi, despite their political differences, particularly highlighting Elahi’s support for the judiciary.
In essence, Sanaullah’s statements reflect a nuanced perspective on political dynamics, advocating for dialogue and cooperation to navigate Pakistan’s complex political landscape and foster stability and progress.
