ISLAMABAD: Maryam Nawaz, the Senior Vice President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), possesses assets valued at more than Rs842 million.

Her submission of details alongside nomination papers for the NA-119 constituency reveals ownership of over 1500 kanals of land in Lahore, with her assets showing a modest increase of just over Rs4 million in the span of a year.

Documents indicate Maryam’s ownership of a Master’s degree in English Literature. Notably, she doesn’t possess any vehicles and has a debt exceeding Rs28.9 million owed to her brother, Hassan Nawaz. Geo TV reported this on Thursday, citing her assets declared in the nomination papers.

In her filings, Maryam lists possessing gold valued at Rs1.75 million, alongside holdings of over Rs10 million across various bank accounts.

Additionally, she claims ownership of shares worth Rs12.2 million in diverse companies.

On December 30, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) approved Maryam’s nomination papers across several constituencies.

A spokesperson for her indicated that while her papers for multiple Lahore and Sargodha constituencies were approved by the returning officers (ROs), her decision to contest the general elections would align with the party’s choice.

Submitting nomination papers for two National Assembly constituencies (NA-119 and NA-120) and four Punjab Assembly constituencies (PP-159, PP-160, PP-165, and PP-80), Maryam Nawaz awaits the party’s direction regarding her contesting constituencies.
