Price Control System
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif candidly acknowledged the absence of a price control system in the province while addressing journalists.
Despite this admission, she asserted that the government is actively implementing measures to curb inflation and is determined to crack down on any violations.
In a resolute statement, Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz emphasized that there will be no exceptions in the crackdown, signaling a firm stance against those contributing to the rising prices.
She observed the global trend of prices decreasing but noted the opposite in Pakistan, attributing it to serious governance issues that will require time to resolve.
To address the challenges, the Chief Secretary has been instructed to provide daily reports from all districts, allowing for targeted and appropriate expenditures to ensure the fundamental rights of Punjab’s citizens are upheld.
Furthermore, Maryam Nawaz warned opponents against using politics and democracy as a guise to create instability in the country. She pledged to offer no concessions to violators, highlighting a recent incident where a woman attacked a police van to rescue people.
Expressing disbelief, she questioned the occurrence of such events in any country and stressed the need for responsible citizenship.
The Chief Minister clarified that if citizens choose to exercise their democratic right to protest, it must be done responsibly without causing chaos.
However, she firmly asserted that if there is a threat to public safety or government property, the law will take its course.
This resolute stance underscores Maryam Nawaz’s commitment to maintaining law and order while addressing the governance challenges faced by Punjab, signaling a proactive approach to tackle pressing issues affecting the province.
