Faisal Yousaf, a spokesperson for the Punjab Information Technology Board, announced on Monday that ‘Maryam Ki Dastak’ services would be rolling out across every division starting August 14th.
This expansion marks a significant step by the provincial government to broaden the initiative’s reach and enhance public service accessibility.
The announcement came during a meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, where she conducted a comprehensive review of the services offered through the application.
Emphasizing the initiative’s objective to facilitate citizens, the government highlighted its commitment to bringing essential services directly to people’s doorsteps. At the heart of this effort lies a dedicated team of ‘Facilitators’ specially trained to assist citizens throughout the entire service delivery process—from initial application filling to fee payment, submission, and final receipt.
Designed to cater to the needs of senior citizens, differently-abled individuals, and women, ‘Maryam Ki Dastak’ integrates services from multiple government departments.
Through the mobile application, citizens can access services ranging from police and revenue matters to municipal services, excise, TMA, and development authorities.
Key services include issuance of domicile, e-stamping, birth, death, and marriage certificates, as well as facilities for property tax, token tax, motor vehicle transfers, and new vehicle registrations.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed her team to expand the number of services available through ‘Maryam Ki Dastak’ in Lahore to 40 by the immediate term, with plans to increase this to 65 by August 2024. She stressed the importance of enhancing service quality and approved plans for further extension.
Citizens can avail themselves of these services through various channels, including appointments with app representatives, the web portal, mobile app, or by calling the dedicated call centre at 1202. This multi-channel approach aims to streamline service accessibility and improve citizen satisfaction across Punjab.
