Is Bilawal’s Long March Making PDM obsolete?

A total of 37 cities and towns along the route will be visited by the PPP long march before it reaches Islamabad on March 8.

LAHORE: A long march by the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is said to have rendered the opposition Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) obsolete.

“It was not until the PPP founding member of the alliance joined the PDM that the platform thrived,” reported Syed Hassan Murtaza, Punjab PPP general secretary. He also stated there will be no need for the PDM after the successful conclusion of the Awami march.

Syed Ali Shah, head of the party’s social media department, hosted a reception on Tuesday as he spoke to the media.

A total of 37 cities and towns along the route will be visited by the PPP long march before it reaches Islamabad on March 8.

Mr Murtaza stated that if the PML-N wanted to demonstrate sympathy with the march participants in Lahore, they would welcome the party.

On March 6, he claimed the PPP chairman will address a public gathering in Nasser Bagh on the Lower Mall.

According to him, the location for the public gathering had been finalised, despite a request from the local administration to relocate the power show to the Minar-i-Pakistan grounds, now known as Greater Iqbal Park.

Lahore Commissioner, retired Captain Muhammad Usman, suggested that the Minar-i-Pakistan will be the ideal location for such a gathering. Nevertheless, Nasser Bagh’s security preparations have been completed before the meeting. “

As the marchers arrived, the Parks and Horticulture Authority allegedly removed party banners and welcome signs that had been put up along city streets to welcome them. The PPP leader slammed the authority for such actions.

On the other hand, Mr Murtaza claimed that Bilawal had launched a massive campaign against what he called an “anti-people administration” and that he hoped that the long march would provide fresh hope to the country’s impoverished.
