LAHORE: On Friday, the Indian authorities refused visas to 170 Pakistani visitors who had completed their preparations for a trip to the neighbouring nation beginning on January 29. (Saturday).
The Indian government denied the visas under the pretence of Covid-19 restrictions, according to Tourism Coordinator MNA Dr Ramesh Kumar.
According to him, 170 travellers had signed up for the tour, which included stops in Ajmer Sharif, New Delhi, Mith, Jaipur, and other parts of India.
The tour was intended to end on February 1, but it has been postponed due to the reluctance of the Indian administration. According to diplomatic sources, Pakistan and India have yet to reach an agreement on visit visas.
They claimed that pilgrims from Pakistan and India visit each other’s countries in accordance with a 1974 agreement and that Pakistan has previously provided visas to Indian tourists.
They also stated that any individual’s efforts to promote religious tourism between the two countries will be ignored and that both countries will have to dialogue to settle the matter.
