In the forthcoming Senate elections, PTI nominates Sanam Javed to contest for the women’s seat

Imran Khan personally selects 14 candidates; Murad Saeed, Faisal Javed, and Mirza Afridi are chosen to run for KP seats.

The political party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has chosen to nominate imprisoned activist Sanam Javed for a female position in the upcoming Senate elections for general seats. Meanwhile, ex-provincial minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid will represent the party in the technocrat seat race in the Upper House.

Imran Khan, PTI Founder Chairman, has endorsed the Senate election candidates’ names. Among the numerous contenders, Khan personally selected approximately 14 individuals.

Furthermore, as per party leader Mian Aslam Iqbal’s announcement, Hamid Khan and Zulfi Bukhari have been chosen as candidates for the Punjab general seats. Iqbal also mentioned that Umar Sarfaraz Cheema and retired Colonel Ijaz Minhas have been nominated as substitute candidates for the general seats.

Murad Saeed, Faisal Javed, and Mirza Muhammad Afridi are set to represent Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for general seats, alongside Irfan Saleem, Khurram Zeeshan, and Azhar Mashwani.

Furthermore, Azam Khan Swati and Irshad Hussain have been chosen as PTI’s technocrat candidates. Ayesha Bano and Rubina Naz will be contesting for the women’s reserved seats.

Today marks the deadline for submitting nomination papers in the Senate elections for general seats. Returning officers will be accepting nominations until 5 pm. The process of scrutinizing nomination papers is scheduled to be completed by March 19th. By March 21st, appeals can be filed against the acceptance or rejection of these papers.

Furthermore, the results of the appeals will be announced by March 25th, and voting will take place in both provincial and national assemblies on April 2nd, from 9 am to 4 pm. In this election, 12 seats in the Senate will be contested, with 6 seats each from Punjab and Sindh, and 2 seats from Islamabad and Balochistan.
