Imran Khan Cleared of Accusations in Two Cases

Judicial Magistrate Shaista Kundi announced her decision after considering the case, denying the request to present the individual in court.

In a recent development, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, has been cleared of accusations in connection to two incidents involving the May 25 long march and property damage during the event in Islamabad.

This verdict was delivered by Judicial Magistrate Shaista Kundi, who had reserved her decision. The cases against the former prime minister were initiated from the Sihala and Lohi Bher police stations due to claims of his involvement in the long march’s vandalism.

Nevertheless, Imran Khan’s request for acquittal and court appearance led to a positive outcome, as Judge Kundi granted him acquittal. In the court proceedings, lawyer Naeem Panjotha argued for Imran Khan’s presence in court. The judge inquired about the responsibility in case any harm befell him during the transportation.

Panjotha stated that it was the government’s responsibility to ensure security, and he wished to discuss his points with the PTI founder present. Meanwhile, the judge emphasized the importance of attendance during bail proceedings, not for acquittal, and denied Imran Khan’s production request.

Additionally, Panjotha stated that his client was implicated in all cases, suggesting they occurred under his direction. There were numerous cases filed on the same day, he mentioned. He also asserted that the enforcement of Section 144 had not been officially announced nor communicated to anyone. “The plaintiff is an SHO without the authority to register the case,” the lawyer argued.

He additionally mentioned that there were no witness testimonies in any of the cases involving Imran Khan, and further clarified that his client had been found not guilty in multiple other instances as well.
