Chairing a meeting in Peshawar on Saturday to discuss election arrangements, he expressed satisfaction with the preparations made for the general elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry assured that comprehensive security measures would be implemented, and CCTV cameras would be installed at all polling stations across the province to ensure the safety and transparency of the electoral process.
In related developments, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has affirmed its commitment to the smooth operation of the upcoming general elections in 2024. The ECP stated that all its operational and IT systems are functioning “satisfactorily” and that it faces no difficulties in conducting the election.
The electoral watchdog highlighted the development of an automated and modern Election Management System (EMS), designed to transform and compile election results from Presiding to Returning officers.
The system has undergone multiple tests for its intended purpose. Additionally, the EMS has been enhanced with additional functions and features to assist Returning Officers, ensuring that the data can be utilized even in the early stages of the polling process, the statement noted.
This proactive approach and the use of advanced technology aim to enhance the efficiency and transparency of the electoral process in Pakistan.
