Before the holy month of Ramadan, the Utility Stores Corporation (USC) has raised the cost of cooking oil and ghee.
There has been a rise of up to Rs. 15 per kilogramme and up to Rs. 15 per litre in the cost of ghee and cooking oil, respectively. It was stated in the notice that utility shop prices will rise promptly.
In addition, the costs of ghee and cooking oil of various brands have also gone up during the last few weeks.
There was an increase in the price of cooking oil of Rs. 75 per litre, while the price of ghee was increased by Rs.66 per kg. The cost of other goods also rose throughout the course of the last month.
The government recently rejected an 8 billion rupee proposal by the Utility Stores Corporation (USC) to subsidise different commodities during Ramadan.
