Ata Tarar of PML-N Clinches NA-127, Prevailing Over Bilawal

LAHORE: In a notable electoral development, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Ata Tarar emerged victorious in NA-127 Lahore, defeating Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, according to unofficial results.

Unofficial results revealed that Ata Tarar secured 98,210 votes, leading the contest, followed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-backed Malik Zaheer Abbas Khokhar with 82,230 votes. Bilawal secured the third position with 15,005 votes. This outcome highlights PML-N’s electoral success in the constituency and reflects the shifting political dynamics.

In another significant contest, PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif secured victory on the NA-130 Lahore seat, defeating PTI-backed candidate Yasmin Rashid. In addition, Nawaz Sharif emerged victorious with 107,124 votes, while Yasmin Rashid secured the second position with 101,524 votes.

Meanwhile, Maryam Nawaz, a prominent figure in the PML-N, triumphed in NA-119 with 83,855 votes, showcasing her continued influence and popularity among the electorate. The daylong polling process for the General Election 2024 concluded peacefully, witnessing active participation from voters of all age groups.

Across the country, polling stations opened simultaneously at 8 am and continued until 5 pm, allowing citizens ample time to exercise their right to vote. With over 128 million registered voters participating, the polling encompassed 265 seats of the National Assembly and 590 seats of provincial assemblies.

Despite some exceptions due to the death of a candidate, the voting took place in 855 constituencies out of 859. The electoral landscape continues to evolve, with the outcomes shaping the composition of national and provincial legislatures.
