Arif Alvi Affirms Imran Khan’s Resolve to Stay Jailed Rather Than Compromise

SIALKOT: Former President Arif Alvi has once again emphasized that Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) who is currently incarcerated in Adiala Jail is relentless in his decision to abstain from making any compromises or deals. He emphasized that Khan is committed to upholding principles over personal freedom.

Addressing lawyers at the Sialkot district bar, Alvi emphasized the significance of maintaining integrity and self-respect in leadership, asserting that genuine freedom stems from unwavering adherence to principles.

He questioned the reluctance to engage in dialogue with Imran Khan, a figure representing millions of people, highlighting the necessity for constructive communication to navigate through current challenges.

Alvi expressed concerns about the prevailing impasse with Imran Khan, suggesting that meaningful dialogue and adherence to constitutional principles are necessary to prevent further deterioration.

Citing Imran Khan’s stance on the supremacy of the Constitution, Alvi underscored the importance of dialogue as the sole pathway forward.

Earlier reports indicated that Imran Khan had entrusted Arif Alvi with the task of facilitating dialogue to address prevailing issues, as disclosed during a press conference by PTI leaders outside Adiala jail.

Alvi’s efforts to bridge the gap between Imran Khan and the establishment underscored his commitment to promoting unity and stability during his tenure as president.

The PTI’s stance on dialogue shifted following a press conference by the Director-General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), prompting the party to prioritize constitutional and legal supremacy over engagement with external entities.

As the political landscape continues to evolve, Arif Alvi’s affirmation of Imran Khan’s unwavering resolve signifies the party’s steadfast commitment to its core values amidst challenging circumstances.
