Man Arrested in Lahore for “Slandering” PM Imran’s wife

LAHORE: On Monday, the FIA cybercrime unit detained a man for allegedly organising a “malicious campaign” against the wife of Pakistan’s prime minister, Bushra Bibi.

Suspected of “propaganda campaign”, an FIA spokesman said, Sabir Mahmood was detained in Model Town on Monday.

“More arrests are likely,” he added.

Former Information and Broadcasting Minister Farrukh Habib has previously warned “some sectors” to avoid cheap techniques such as dragging an unaffiliated and apolitical lady into politics by peddling “false rumours” about Prime Minister Imran Khan’s wife.
