A police constable faces legal action after allegedly threatening and harassing a lady constable in Mianwali. Police registered the case after the victim filed a complaint.
Authorities said the incident occurred at the Police Facilitation Centre in Piplan Tehsil. Investigators have started collecting evidence.
Alleged Threat During Duty Hours
According to the First Information Report, Lady Constable Shehnaz Gul was performing official duties at the centre.
Meanwhile, Constable Rahmat Ullah allegedly entered the office carrying a .30-bore pistol. Investigators said he pointed the weapon at her head.
He allegedly threatened to kill her unless she agreed to marry him. However, the complainant resisted the alleged intimidation.
During the struggle, the pistol reportedly slipped from the accused’s hands onto the floor. She immediately contacted her father and informed him about the incident.
Family Arrives as Suspect Flees
Soon afterward, her father and brother reached the police facility. According to the complaint, the accused argued with the family after they confronted him.
He allegedly used abusive language and issued further death threats. Subsequently, he fled the scene while waving the pistol before nearby people.
The complainant stated the accused had previously sent a marriage proposal through his family. However, her family rejected the proposal because they did not approve the match.
She alleged the refusal motivated the accused’s threatening behaviour and continued harassment.
Police registered a case against Constable Rahmat Ullah under relevant legal provisions. Investigators continue collecting evidence while further legal proceedings remain underway.
