Police investigating the killing of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former ticket holder from Okara, Abdullah Tahir, have identified an alleged mastermind behind the attack. Investigators say the case is linked to a dispute over a sand contract in Narowal, while the inquiry continues to expand.
Authorities have also started questioning individuals close to the slain politician to determine whether anyone shared information about his movements before the attack.
Police Identify Alleged Mastermind
According to police sources, investigators have identified Zaman Gogi, a resident of Narowal, as the alleged mastermind in Abdullah Tahir’s killing.
Officials allege that Abdullah Tahir was targeted through hired shooters. Investigators believe the attack stemmed from an ongoing dispute over a sand contract in Narowal.
According to the investigation, Zaman Gogi had opposed Abdullah Tahir’s involvement in the contract. However, police allege that Abdullah Tahir proceeded with the project despite the disagreement.
Investigators claim the alleged enmity ultimately led to the fatal attack.
Red Warrant Process Underway
Police authorities said the suspect is currently based in the United States.
According to officials, steps have been initiated to obtain a red warrant for his arrest. Authorities stated that if the warrant is issued, efforts will be made to arrest him from abroad.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police have not announced any further arrests in connection with the case.
Security Staff and Employees Under Questioning
Meanwhile, investigators have broadened the inquiry by questioning Abdullah Tahir’s security guard and several employees.
The focus of the investigation is to determine who may have known about Abdullah Tahir’s visit to a clinic before the attack.
According to investigation sources, officers are examining whether the shooters reached the location based on prior information. Investigators believe the timing of the attack requires further scrutiny.
