Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Punjab Assembly member Chaudhry Muhammad Hanif Jutt passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest in Chichawatni. His death has prompted condolences from political leaders and supporters across the region.
Family sources confirmed that Hanif Jutt breathed his last on Wednesday. Meanwhile, arrangements were made for his funeral prayers, which will be offered at Azadi Chowk Stadium after Asr prayers.
Veteran Politician Served Sahiwal Constituencies
Hanif Jutt began his parliamentary career after winning the 2013 general elections. He secured a seat in the Punjab Assembly as a PML-N candidate from constituency PP-226 (Sahiwal-VII).
During his tenure, he remained actively involved in political and public affairs within his constituency. Moreover, he maintained strong ties with local communities and party workers throughout his career.
Re-Elected in 2025 By-Election
The late lawmaker returned to the Punjab Assembly after winning the October 2025 by-election. He contested from constituency PP-203 (Sahiwal-VI) as a PML-N candidate and successfully regained a seat in the provincial legislature.
His victory strengthened the ruling party’s position in the Punjab Assembly. Furthermore, party leaders viewed his re-election as a reflection of continued public support in the constituency.
Following news of his passing, political figures expressed sorrow and paid tribute to his services. Supporters also remembered his contributions to local development and public welfare initiatives in Sahiwal.
