The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has postponed the MDCAT 2026 examination on the directives of the prime minister. The medical college admission test will now take place on September 20, 2026.
The examination was originally scheduled for August 16, 2026. However, the PMDC announced the revised date through an official notification issued on Thursday.
According to the council, the decision aims to ensure a transparent, secure and well-organised examination process. Therefore, candidates will receive additional time before appearing for the test.
Examination Arrangements Remain Unchanged
The PMDC clarified that only the examination date has changed. Meanwhile, all eligibility criteria and other examination arrangements will remain the same.
Officials said the revised schedule will not affect the existing admission requirements. Consequently, candidates should continue preparing according to the previously announced guidelines.
Candidates Advised To Follow Official Updates
The council urged candidates to regularly check the PMDC’s official website and other authorised communication channels. Furthermore, officials said future announcements regarding the examination will be shared through official platforms.
The PMDC also expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by the postponement. However, it maintained that the revised schedule would help ensure a fair and well-managed admission test.
