ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif departed for Doha on Monday on a one-day official visit to Qatar. Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif accompanied him to convey Pakistan’s condolences following the passing of Qatar’s former emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
The visit reflects the close diplomatic ties between Pakistan and Qatar. Moreover, it demonstrates Islamabad’s solidarity with the Qatari leadership and people during their period of national mourning.
Diplomatic Meeting in Doha
During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to meet Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The meeting will focus on expressing condolences and reaffirming the longstanding friendship between the two countries.
