A court in Karachi on Friday provided challans and copies of statements of the witnesses in six cases to the accused drug dealer Anmol alias Pinky in jail and fixed the date for her indictment. This move marks a major step forward in prosecuting the high-profile narcotics suspect.
According to jail sources, accused Pinky has been absconding in these six cases for six years. Her long run from law enforcement finally ended after a recent breakthrough by local police teams.
Court Delivers Case Files Directly to Prison
On court orders, the staff personally delivered the documents to the accused. This formal step ensures the defense has access to all official prosecution materials before the trial officially begins.
The court fixed a hearing to frame charges against the accused and adjourned further hearing of the cases for two weeks. Legal teams will use this brief period to prepare for the upcoming indictment.
Track Record of Evading Law Enforcement
The suspect managed to stay off the police radar for several years despite multiple active warrants. According to police, these cases were registered against Anmol alias Pinky in 2020, 2021 and 2022, and she has been absconding in these cases.
The breakthrough came after an investigation into separate criminal activities in the city. After being arrested in the Garden Police Station case, the accused has also been arrested in these cases. Karachi police are currently checking if she is linked to broader narcotics distribution networks operating across the province.
