Direct Lahore-Manchester Flight to Begin in July
Pakistan International Airlines has completed preparations to launch its direct Lahore-Manchester flight, marking another step in the airline’s renewed focus on United Kingdom routes.
According to reports, the one-way economy class fare for the Lahore-Manchester flight has been fixed at Rs155,000. The service is scheduled to begin on July 3.
PIA will operate the route using a Boeing 777 aircraft. The airline is expected to use the wide-body plane to serve passengers travelling between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.
The new route is likely to benefit Pakistani travellers, overseas Pakistanis and families who frequently travel between Lahore and Manchester. Manchester remains one of the key destinations for Pakistani communities in the United Kingdom.
The launch is also expected to reduce travel pressure on passengers who currently depend on connecting flights through other cities or international carriers.
PIA Expands United Kingdom Operations
The Lahore-Manchester route comes after PIA resumed its direct Lahore-to-London flights on March 30. That move was seen as an important part of the airline’s plan to rebuild and expand its international operations.
A PIA spokesperson said the airline was enhancing its flight services to the United Kingdom. The latest route shows the national carrier is trying to strengthen its position on high-demand international sectors.
Direct flights to the United Kingdom have long been important for PIA because of the large Pakistani diaspora living there. Routes connecting Lahore with major British cities usually attract students, business travellers, families and overseas workers.
The addition of Manchester is expected to improve travel options for passengers from Punjab and nearby regions.
Boeing 777 to Serve High-Demand Route
PIA’s decision to deploy a Boeing 777 reflects the importance of the Lahore-Manchester route. The aircraft can carry a large number of passengers and is commonly used for long-haul international flights.
The Rs155,000 one-way economy fare will now be watched closely by travellers as booking demand builds before the July launch.
The new service may also help PIA compete more actively with foreign airlines operating between Pakistan and the United Kingdom through connecting routes.
With Lahore-to-London already restored and Lahore-to-Manchester now set to begin, PIA appears focused on rebuilding passenger confidence and expanding direct access to major UK destinations.
The airline is expected to release further operational details as the launch date approaches.
