Petrol will now cost Rs358.77 per litre, compared with the previous rate of Rs345.87.
Diesel Price Also Increased
The government has also raised the price of high-speed diesel (HSD).
The price of HSD has increased by Rs3.72 per litre.
Following the latest revision, diesel will now be available at Rs381.77 per litre, compared with the previous price of Rs378.05.
The increase means consumers will face higher fuel costs from September 8.
OGRA Notifies Revised Petroleum Prices
The revised ex-depot prices were notified by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) under the federal government’s revised petroleum pricing mechanism.
The latest rates replace the prices announced for the previous pricing period.
The new petrol and diesel prices will remain applicable from September 8, 2026, according to the Petroleum Division notification.
The sharp increase in petrol prices is expected to raise transportation and fuel expenses for consumers and businesses using petrol-powered vehicles.
