The government has reduced petrol and high-speed diesel prices with immediate effect. Consequently, consumers will pay lower fuel prices from after midnight.
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, petrol prices have decreased by Rs 2.20 per litre. Meanwhile, high-speed diesel prices have been reduced by Rs 1.50 per litre.
Following the revision, the ex-depot price of petrol now stands at Rs 327.62 per litre. Previously, petrol was available at Rs 329.82 per litre.
Diesel Price Also Reduced
The ex-depot price of high-speed diesel has been fixed at Rs 380.86 per litre. Earlier, consumers were paying Rs 382.36 per litre for diesel.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority revised the petroleum prices after its latest review. Moreover, the updated rates will remain effective until Monday.
New Rates Effective After Midnight
The revised petroleum prices will come into effect after midnight across Pakistan. Therefore, petrol pumps will begin selling fuel at the new rates from the start of the next pricing period.
Officials said the latest adjustment follows the government’s regular fuel price review mechanism. Meanwhile, consumers are expected to receive modest relief from the reduction in petrol and diesel prices.
