Fuel prices in Pakistan are set to rise again after the federal government approved another increase in petrol and high-speed diesel rates.
According to a notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority, petrol has become 39 paisas more expensive per litre.
Meanwhile, the price of high-speed diesel has increased by Rs2.40 per litre.
New Petrol and Diesel Prices
Following the latest revision, petrol will now cost Rs341.98 per litre across the country.
The new price of high-speed diesel has been fixed at Rs370.69 per litre.
The revised rates will take effect after midnight tonight.
The latest increase adds to fuel costs for consumers, transporters and businesses. Consequently, higher fuel expenses could place additional pressure on transportation costs.
Fuel Costs Set to Rise Further
Petrol and diesel remain essential for transportation and business activity across Pakistan.
Therefore, even a small increase in fuel prices can affect household and operating expenses.
The latest revision means consumers will pay more for petrol from the start of the new pricing period. At the same time, diesel users will face a larger increase.
The higher diesel price could also add to transportation expenses. As a result, businesses and consumers may face additional financial pressure following the latest fuel price adjustment.
