The Peshawar Northern Bypass project is scheduled for completion on January 31, 2027, as authorities accelerate construction across its remaining sections. The project aims to improve road connectivity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and facilitate smoother travel for commuters.
The National Highway Authority (NHA) has intensified construction activities to meet the announced deadline. According to the latest progress report, different sections have reached varying stages of completion, while work continues on key structures and road segments.
Construction Progress Across Major Sections
Package-I of the Peshawar Northern Bypass has achieved 100 percent completion, marking a major milestone for the infrastructure project. Meanwhile, Package-II has reached 79 percent completion, while Package-III-A stands at 82 percent.
Additionally, construction on Package-III-B has reached 75 percent completion. These figures highlight ongoing progress across several sections as the authority works to bring the project closer to its scheduled opening.
The Charsadda Road Flyover, another important component of the development, has reached 25 percent completion. Construction teams are continuing work on its foundations and bridge structures to advance the project.
NHA Accelerates Work to Meet Deadline
At the Charsadda Road Flyover, workers are pouring concrete for retaining wall foundations and carrying out bridge shuttering activities. These tasks are essential for strengthening the structure and supporting further construction.
Furthermore, Package-II teams are laying sub-base material along road shoulders and fixing steel for retaining walls. Under Package-III-A, workers are undertaking shuttering for protective construction work on Bridge No. 3.
In Package-III-B, construction teams are preparing the road subgrade and laying sub-base material near Nasir Bagh. Work is also progressing on shuttering and steel fixing for the transoms of a seven-span bridge.
The NHA’s accelerated efforts are intended to keep construction on schedule and complete the bypass by January 31, 2027. Once completed, the project is expected to strengthen road infrastructure and improve connectivity for commuters travelling through Peshawar and surrounding areas.
