ISLAMABAD: Leaders of the multi-party alliance reached a consensus that the forthcoming caretaker prime minister should be selected with agreement from one of the smaller provinces.
The coalition’s party heads and leaders began arriving at the Prime Minister’s residence, where PM Shehbaz hosted a dinner aimed at deliberating on potential candidates for the caretaker prime minister role.
Furthermore, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Bilawal Bhutto, Aftab Sherpao, Aslam Bhootani, and Ameer Haider Hoti, representing the PDM coalition, were among those who arrived at the PM house.
Other attendees included outgoing Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, and JUI-F’s Maulana Asad Mehmood.
Earlier, outgoing Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended invitations to Asif Ali Zardari, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Friday, to discuss the appointment of the caretaker prime minister. He also called for a meeting of the PDM and the coalition government’s participating parties.
PM Shehbaz Sharif also hosted a dinner for Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Khalid Magsi, Sajid Mir, Owais Noorani, Sajid Ali Khan, Aimal Wali Khan, Abdul Malik Baloch, Aftab Sherpao, and other members of the alliance, according to sources from Aaj News.
They added that the prime minister would continue consultations with the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Raja Riaz on Friday (today) for the caretaker cabinet, marking the second day of deliberation

Separation from the consultation process
Senator Ishaq Dar of the PML-N revealed in an informal conversation with journalists that he had withdrawn from the consultation process for selecting the caretaker prime minister.
He further stated, “The nullification of the review and judgment act was not an issue. The PML-N will formulate political and legal strategies in response to the court’s ruling and discuss this with legal experts. A decision regarding the return of former PM Nawaz Sharif will be decides after thorough discussion.”
