Pakistani artist and fashion designer Misha Japanwala has achieved a major career milestone by designing two sculptural costume pieces for Christopher Nolanโs upcoming film The Odyssey.
Oscar-winning actor Lupita Nyongโo wears the custom designs while portraying Helen of Troy in the highly anticipated Hollywood production.
The collaboration marks another international achievement for Japanwala and highlights Pakistani talent on one of cinemaโs biggest stages.

In an interview with W Magazine, costume designer Ellen Mirojnick revealed that Lupita Nyongโo suggested bringing Japanwala onto the project.
Nyongโo and Japanwala have shared a close friendship for several years.
Japanwala celebrated the achievement on Instagram and wrote, โThe Odyssey: the honor of a lifetime to contribute to Christopher Nolanโs vision and work with the legend @byellenm and @saraprana to create these two very special sculptural works that adorn @lupitanyongo as Helen of Troy!โ
She also thanked Nyongโo for supporting her work and expressed gratitude to the filmโs costume team for trusting her creative vision.
Furthermore, she wrote, โA dream come true to be a tiny part of this monumental film and cinematic history. I still canโt believe itโs real.โ
Custom Bronze Designs Feature in Epic Film
According to Mirojnick, Japanwala created a bronze asymmetrical neck and shoulder plate for Helen of Troy.
Additionally, she designed a bronze choker that Nyongโo wears with a chainmail kaftan in the film.
The sculptural pieces reflect Japanwalaโs signature artistic style, which has earned international recognition in recent years.
Previously, she gained attention for creating wearable body castings that addressed issues including domestic violence and honour killings in Pakistan.
Moreover, she collaborated with supermodel Gigi Hadid on a sculptural mask for a special edition of V Magazine.
Her body-casting collection also appeared in a six-page spread in Vogue Spain, featuring French model Cindy Bruna.
The Odyssey Features Star-Studded Cast
Christopher Nolanโs The Odyssey follows Odysseus after the Trojan War as he returns to Ithaca.
The film stars Matt Damon in the lead role alongside Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Zendaya and Travis Scott.
