Air Indus has announced plans to resume flight operations more than 11 years after suspending its services. The airline is preparing to restart domestic flights before expanding its network to several Gulf destinations.
According to information available on the airline’s official website, Air Indus is completing preparations to relaunch operations with a fleet of narrow-body jets and ATR 72-600 turboprop aircraft.
The airline had suspended its flight operations on July 1, 2015.
Domestic Flights to Begin in the First Phase
Air Indus said it will relaunch its services by focusing on domestic operations from its hub in Karachi.
Initially, the airline plans to operate three daily flights between Karachi and Islamabad. It also intends to operate two daily flights between Karachi and Lahore.
In addition, Air Indus plans to expand its domestic network by connecting Karachi with Peshawar, Sialkot, Quetta, Gwadar, Faisalabad, Multan and Skardu.
The airline also plans to operate flights between Quetta and Islamabad.
According to Air Indus, punctuality, passenger safety and customer service will remain key priorities as it resumes operations across Pakistan.
Gulf Expansion Planned After Domestic Relaunch
Following the restoration of domestic services, Air Indus plans to launch international flights to Gulf countries.
The airline intends to operate flights from Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Doha, Kuwait City and Muscat.
However, Air Indus clarified that all proposed international routes remain subject to approval from the relevant civil aviation authorities.
Modern Fleet to Support Expansion
Air Indus said its relaunch will be supported by a modern fleet designed to strengthen both domestic and international operations.
According to the airline, narrow-body jets will serve as the backbone of its route network. These aircraft will initially operate domestic services before supporting expansion into the Middle East.
The airline said the aircraft have been selected for their operational efficiency, reliability, passenger comfort and overall performance.
ATR Aircraft to Improve Regional Connectivity
As part of a later phase, Air Indus also plans to introduce ATR 72-600 turboprop aircraft.
The airline said these regional aircraft will improve connectivity for smaller communities while strengthening air links with Pakistan’s northern areas.
The planned expansion reflects the airline’s broader strategy to improve domestic accessibility alongside future international growth.
Air Indus Eyes a Fresh Start
Air Indus described its return as the outcome of extensive planning carried out over several years.
The airline said it aims to deliver world-class air travel services while rebuilding its presence in Pakistan’s aviation sector.
With domestic operations expected to begin first, Air Indus plans to gradually expand its route network before entering international markets. The proposed relaunch marks the airline’s return after more than a decade and signals a renewed focus on improving connectivity for passengers across Pakistan and the Gulf region.
