PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has warned the Afghan Taliban authorities that Pakistan will not tolerate attacks originating from across the border, following a deadly firing incident in Angoor Adda, South Waziristan.
Kundi delivered the warning amid heightened tensions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, where security incidents have raised concerns about civilian safety and regional stability.
The Angoor Adda incident reportedly left one person dead and five members of a family injured after firing struck the border area. The incident also caused damage to local property, intensifying concerns among residents living near the frontier.
The governor stressed that Pakistan expected the Afghan Taliban authorities to prevent attacks from Afghan territory and take responsibility for maintaining security along the border. His remarks reflected Islamabad’s longstanding concerns about cross-border militancy and the safety of communities in adjoining districts.
Pakistan has repeatedly called on the Afghan authorities to prevent armed groups from using Afghan territory to launch attacks against Pakistani security personnel and civilians. Kabul has rejected various allegations concerning militant activity, making border security a continuing source of tension between the two countries.
