ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Railways has completed the upgradation of its Reservation Office at its headquarters, introducing modern facilities to improve passenger services and ticketing efficiency.
According to officials, the reservation office has undergone a complete renovation, featuring updated interiors and new furnishings to enhance overall service delivery. Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi will formally inaugurate the upgraded facility in the coming days.
Under the revamp, authorities have established multiple ticketing counters to better manage passenger flow. These include dedicated counters for women, men, and senior citizens, ensuring a more organized and accessible ticketing process. In addition, a separate information desk has been set up to assist travelers with inquiries and guidance.
Furthermore, the facility is now fully air-conditioned and provides seating capacity for approximately 30 individuals, improving comfort for visitors. As part of the modernization drive, two self-ticketing machines have also been installed, allowing passengers to purchase tickets independently and reduce waiting times.
In addition, the upgraded office includes separate washrooms for men and women, along with enhanced security measures such as surveillance cameras. Free Wi-Fi service has also been introduced to facilitate passengers during their visit.
Officials stated that new furniture has been provided for both staff and visitors, contributing to a more professional and welcoming environment.
Overall, the initiative reflects Pakistan Railwaysโ efforts to modernize its infrastructure and improve customer experience, with the revamped Reservation Office expected to streamline operations and deliver more efficient services to the public.
