Pakistan has decided to deport 284 foreign nationals detained over alleged involvement in online fraud, according to sources.
The Ministry of Interior has reportedly cancelled the visas of all 284 detained individuals. Authorities have also issued one-time exit permits allowing them to leave Pakistan within 15 days.
284 Foreign Nationals to Leave Pakistan
The 284 individuals were reportedly arrested from a private housing society in Islamabad during action against alleged online fraud.
Most of those detained are citizens of Vietnam, Indonesia and China, while many reportedly entered Pakistan using tourist or visit visas.
Following the cancellation of their visas, the individuals have been given one-time exit permits valid for 15 days. Therefore, all 284 foreign nationals are expected to leave Pakistan within the specified period.
Names to Be Added to Blacklist
Authorities are also preparing further measures following the deportation of the detained individuals.
According to sources, their names will be placed on the blacklist and Foreigners Control List after they leave Pakistan. They will also reportedly face restrictions on obtaining Pakistani visas in the future.
The measures would prevent the individuals from returning to Pakistan through regular visa channels. The reported action comes after their detention over alleged involvement in online fraud activities.
For now, the authorities are allowing the detained foreign nationals to leave under one-time exit permits issued for 15 days.
