Special forces from Pakistan, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and another participating country have joined a multinational military exercise in Uzbekistan.
The Eternal Brotherhood-5 exercise ran from September 13 to 25, 2026. It brought together special forces contingents from five countries for joint training and professional development.
Kazakhstan also participated in the exercise as an observer.
Eternal Brotherhood-5 Focuses on Joint Training
The exercise aimed to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the participating special forces.
During the drills, troops trained together and exchanged experience in modern military operations. They also discussed combat tactics and approaches to different security challenges.
Joint training gave the participating forces an opportunity to understand each other’s procedures. As a result, the exercise helped improve coordination during complex operations.
Moreover, personnel from different countries shared practical knowledge gained from their respective military experiences. This exchange formed an important part of the exercise.
Special Forces Exchange Operational Experience
The multinational drills focused on practical cooperation rather than individual training alone.
Participating forces worked together to improve their ability to operate as a coordinated group. They also examined methods for responding to changing security situations.
The exercise allowed troops to learn from one another while developing greater familiarity with different operational practices.
At the same time, joint activities helped strengthen professional capabilities among the participating contingents.
Kazakhstan Participates as Observer
Kazakhstan joined Eternal Brotherhood-5 as an observer country.
Its participation provided an opportunity to follow the training activities and observe the cooperation between the participating special forces.
Observer participation can also support greater understanding between regional armed forces. In addition, it creates opportunities for future military engagement and professional exchanges.
Exercise Highlights Growing Defence Cooperation
Eternal Brotherhood-5 also reflects broader defence and security cooperation among the participating countries.
Pakistan, Türkiye, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have maintained growing military and security contacts in recent years. Joint exercises provide a practical platform for strengthening those relationships.
Furthermore, multinational drills can help participating forces build mutual trust. They also allow personnel to develop a better understanding of how partner forces operate.
The exercise therefore extended beyond battlefield training. It also supported wider efforts to strengthen military relations and practical cooperation.
Focus on Modern Security Challenges
Modern security threats often require greater coordination between countries and their armed forces.
For this reason, exercises such as Eternal Brotherhood-5 allow special forces to test their ability to work alongside international partners.
Through shared training and operational exchanges, the participating countries can improve their readiness for different security scenarios.
For now, the exercise highlights the continued emphasis on joint training, professional development and regional defence cooperation among the participating countries.
