Pakistan has finalized a 12-player probable squad for the third and final Test against England at Edgbaston. Three players could make their Test debuts.
Wicketkeeper-batter Ghazi Ghori is expected to feature in the playing XI and could receive his maiden Test cap. The 23-year-old Karachi-born player joined previous Test squads against the West Indies and England.
However, Ghori did not play in the Caribbean series or the opening two Tests against England.
Three Players in Contention for Test Debuts
All-rounder Muhammad Imran Randhawa also remains a strong debut candidate. The 29-year-old has scored 2,255 runs in 58 first-class matches, including two centuries.
He has also taken 110 wickets with his medium-fast bowling. Meanwhile, Pakistan could hand a debut to 21-year-old pacer Razaullah.
The Mardan-born right-arm fast bowler made his first-class debut for Peshawar in 2025. He has claimed 30 wickets across eight matches.
Razaullah could enter the XI if Pakistan chooses to field four fast bowlers.
Arafat Minhas is another selection option if the team uses only one specialist spinner. The 21-year-old left-arm spinner and all-rounder from Multan has played three ODIs and four T20Is for Pakistan.
Pakistan Trails England 2-0
Pakistan enters the Edgbaston Test after heavy defeats at Headingley and Lord’s.
England won the opening Test by an innings and 103 runs inside three days. England scored 409 before dismissing Pakistan for 171 and 135.
Pakistan then suffered a 194-run defeat at Lord’s. England posted 290 in the first innings before bowling Pakistan out for 110.
England later scored 208 to set Pakistan a target of 389. Pakistan managed only 194, giving England an unassailable 2-0 series lead.
