Pakistan Army and China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) are conducting Warrior-IX, a major joint counterterrorism exercise being held from 28 November to 14 December 2025, the military’s media wing, ISPR, announced on Wednesday. The exercise aims to enhance interoperability, sharpen tactical coordination, and further strengthen defence cooperation between the two allied nations.
Senior Officials Attend Distinguished Visitors Day at NCTC Pabbi
According to ISPR, Distinguished Visitors Day was observed on 11 December 2025 at the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) in Pabbi. China’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, attended the event as the Chief Guest, along with a high-level delegation from the PLA. The Chief of General Staff of the Pakistan Army participated as the Guest of Honour.
Officials received a detailed briefing on the exercise’s scope, objectives and operational framework. They watched counterterrorism drills showcasing coordinated manoeuvres, rapid-response tactics and modern combat techniques. Senior visitors praised the professionalism, high morale and operational readiness displayed by troops from both countries.
Exercise Reinforces Strong Pak–China Defence Partnership
ISPR said Warrior-IX reflects the growing defence collaboration between Pakistan and China. The exercise highlights the two armies’ shared commitment to enhancing regional security, improving joint response capabilities and promoting long-term stability.
Both sides reaffirmed that such joint drills play a crucial role in strengthening military ties and enabling forces to respond effectively to evolving security challenges.
