Strike targets structure allegedly occupied by militants as security operation continues
BANNU: The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) reportedly carried out a precision airstrike targeting a compound allegedly occupied by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants in the Baka Khel area, according to security-related reports circulating on Thursday.
The targeted structure was said to belong to a civilian before it was allegedly taken over by TTP fighters several weeks ago. Sources familiar with the incident claimed the compound had since been used by militants as an operational base.
Reports further suggested that the strike caused significant casualties among the suspected militants. However, authorities had not officially confirmed the number of casualties at the time of reporting, and independent verification was not immediately available.
Compound reportedly located away from residential areas
According to the reports, the building was situated at some distance from nearby residential neighbourhoods, reducing the immediate risk to civilians during the operation. The structure was originally believed to have been constructed as a cattle farm before it was allegedly seized and occupied by TTP members.
Local sources said the location had remained under militant control for several weeks before the reported airstrike. Security officials have not yet released further operational details regarding the target or the outcome of the mission.
