The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has fined eight airlines for delays in delivering passengers’ baggage at national airports.
The authority took action after receiving multiple reports of delayed baggage delivery. Officials said the move aims to improve passenger facilities and enforce service standards.
19 Baggage Delay Cases Reported
According to PAA officials, airports recorded 19 cases of baggage delivery delays between July 1 and August 15, 2026.
The authority imposed combined fines of Rs1.62 million on eight airlines. Officials said the airlines must ensure timely baggage delivery to passengers.
The action comes as part of efforts to improve the overall travel experience at Pakistani airports.
PAA Steps Up Airport Monitoring
PAA officials said they continue to monitor passenger facilities at airports. The authority is also checking airline compliance with established service standards.
Airlines must address baggage handling issues and improve their services. PAA said regular monitoring will continue to ensure better facilities for travellers.
The authority has also stressed the need for airlines to follow operational requirements and avoid delays that inconvenience passengers.
