Airline Moves Ahead With Regulatory Approval Process
A new private airline, Noor Airways, is preparing to enter Pakistan’s domestic aviation sector as its application for a Regular Public Transport license advances through regulatory processing.
According to reports from Pakistan Aviation News, the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority is currently reviewing the airline’s application, which is required for commercial passenger flight operations across the country.
Furthermore, Noor Airways plans to begin services using Airbus A320 aircraft and initially focus on domestic routes. The move signals growing interest in Pakistan’s aviation industry as travel demand continues increasing nationwide.
Although the airline has not announced an official launch date, the processing of its application indicates progress toward operational approval.
Industry observers believe the airline may target high-demand domestic sectors once it completes all required procedures.
Competition Could Increase on Major Domestic Routes
The planned use of Airbus A320 aircraft suggests Noor Airways may eventually operate flights connecting major cities, including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, and Quetta.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s aviation market has witnessed renewed activity in recent years as several private carriers attempted to expand domestic and international operations.
If approved, Noor Airways would become another private competitor in the country’s airline industry, potentially offering passengers more travel choices and increasing competition on key domestic routes.
However, aviation authorities must still complete multiple regulatory steps before commercial operations begin. These include final licensing, operational readiness checks, aircraft arrangements, safety clearances, and route permissions.
Consequently, the airline’s official launch timeline will depend on the completion of these approvals and compliance requirements.
