The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has warned current and former cricketers against participating in the ongoing Asian Legends League in Zambia without prior approval.
According to the board, the tournament has not received recognition from either the International Cricket Council (ICC) or the Zambia Cricket Union. Therefore, players must avoid taking part without obtaining the required No Objection Certificate (NOC).
The PCB said it had taken notice of reports suggesting that several former Pakistani cricketers were participating in the competition without securing the mandatory clearance.
NOC Mandatory for Overseas Cricket Events
The board reiterated that every current and former cricketer must obtain an NOC before participating in any overseas cricket league, tournament or sporting event.
According to the PCB, participation in an international event without prior approval constitutes a violation of its regulations.
As a result, any player found breaching this policy may face disciplinary action under the board’s rules.
Two-Year Restrictions for Violators
The PCB also outlined the consequences for those who ignore its directives.
Under the board’s policy, any current or former cricketer participating in the unapproved Zambia league without an NOC will become ineligible to obtain permission for overseas cricket events for the next two years.
In addition, such individuals will be barred from receiving coaching, mentoring and other assignments with the PCB during the same period.
The restrictions will also apply to roles associated with the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Board Stresses Compliance With Regulations
The PCB emphasized that its policy applies equally to active and retired cricketers. The board said the mandatory NOC requirement helps ensure compliance with its regulations while protecting the integrity of Pakistani cricket.
Furthermore, it stated that the policy discourages participation in tournaments that lack recognition from the relevant governing bodies.
PCB Reiterates Its Position
The board once again directed all current and former Pakistani cricketers to seek prior approval before accepting invitations to overseas competitions.
According to the PCB, compliance with the NOC policy remains essential for maintaining professional standards and safeguarding the credibility of Pakistani cricket in international events.
