The Sindh government has announced the launch of a new Peoples Bus Service route connecting Larkana and Shahdadkot through Qambar. The new public transport service will begin operations on September 18, providing improved travel facilities for residents in the region.
The announcement was made during a meeting of the Sindh Transport and Mass Transit Department. Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon chaired the session and reviewed ongoing transport projects across the province.
New Route to Improve Regional Connectivity
According to officials, the new route will operate between Larkana and Shahdadkot while passing through Qambar. The service aims to offer a reliable transportation option for residents of the three cities and nearby areas.
During the meeting, officials briefed the minister on plans to expand public transport services. They also discussed strategies to improve accessibility and strengthen connectivity across Sindh.
Sharjeel Inam Memon directed the department to ensure the route becomes operational on the announced date. He emphasized the importance of providing passengers with quality facilities and efficient transport services.
Government Plans Expansion of Bus Network
The minister said the new route would help residents travel more conveniently between Larkana, Qambar, Shahdadkot, and surrounding areas. Furthermore, he stated that the Sindh government is committed to expanding the Peoples Bus Service to additional cities and districts.
The meeting also reviewed the performance of existing mass transit systems operating in the province. Officials shared updates on passenger numbers and service efficiency.
According to the briefing, the Green Line Bus Rapid Transit service currently carries around 88,000 passengers daily. Meanwhile, the Orange Line BRT serves more than 11,000 commuters each day.
Officials believe the addition of the new route will further strengthen Sindh’s public transportation network. As a result, more residents are expected to benefit from affordable and accessible travel options.
