The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has directed headquarters officers and employees to remain in the office until the Director General (DG) leaves.
The office order followed directives from newly appointed DG Ali Nasir Rizvi. A deputy director signed the order, which cited “grave concern” over employees leaving before the agency chief.
According to the directive, Rizvi expressed concern after observing officers and employees leaving while he remained in the office. Consequently, staff members must obtain his permission before leaving after official working hours.
Staff instructed to seek prior permission
The order states that no officer or employee can leave for home while the DG remains at the office. However, employees who need to depart after working hours must first seek permission from Rizvi.
Officials said the measure aims to maintain staff presence and strengthen workplace discipline. They added that the directive would also support the smooth performance of official duties at the headquarters.
Rizvi takes charge as NCCIA chief
Rizvi previously served as Inspector General of Islamabad Police after assuming charge in April 2024. During his tenure, he handled policing, security and law-and-order matters across the federal capital.
Meanwhile, his appointment as NCCIA chief comes amid a broader reshuffle involving Islamabad’s policing and cybercrime investigation setup. Captain (Retd.) Sohail Chaudhry has since replaced Rizvi as Islamabad Police chief.
