Pakistani novelist Nemrah Ahmad has drawn a firm line against unauthorized AI content based on her popular novels. The writer has warned YouTube channels and Instagram pages against turning her stories into videos without permission. The novelist addressed the issue through her Instagram Stories. She specifically highlighted AI-generated videos inspired by her books, including her widely read novel Jannat Kay Pattay.
Nemrah made it clear that she does not approve of these adaptations. Moreover, she warned creators that copyright violations could lead to account removals and legal consequences.
Nemrah Ahmad Issues Copyright Warning
Nemrah directly addressed creators using artificial intelligence to produce visual content from her novels.
She wrote: “All the YouTube channels/Instagram pages making AI videos on my novels, especially Jannat Kay Pattay, need to delete those because one by one we are going to report them for copyright violations.”
The author also warned that copyright complaints could result in social media accounts being taken down. She further said creators could face legal action through relevant platforms.
“Not only will your channel/Instagram be taken down, you will also be traced legally through Meta. You cannot hide behind keyboards because Meta has a responsibility when it comes to such copyright violations and they are supposed to provide details about you to the government that requests it.”
Therefore, Nemrah urged creators to remove the content before facing further action.
Author Says She Never Approved Adaptations
Nemrah also clarified that she has never granted permission for television, digital, or video adaptations of her novels.
According to the writer, AI-generated videos do not change the copyright situation. Instead, she argued that creators still need permission before turning her written work into visual content.
She added:
“Lastly, you have no right to make video content on my novels. I never gave my novels for TV productions. Doing this with AI is not only illegal, unethical but extremely cheap.”
