The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) arrested three men in Lahore on Sunday for allegedly blackmailing and harassing women online.
The arrests followed separate intelligence-based operations targeting individuals accused of misusing social media platforms. NCCIA officials also recovered mobile phones and private data belonging to affected women from the suspects.
NCCIA Conducts Separate Raids in Lahore
During the first operation, NCCIA Additional Director Atif Amir raided a location in Engineering Town. The team arrested a suspect who reportedly belonged to Arifwala.
In the second operation, investigators arrested another man accused of damaging a woman’s reputation. He allegedly circulated her private photographs and videos online without her consent.
Meanwhile, NCCIA officials conducted a third operation near Faisalabad Toll Plaza. They arrested a suspect accused of harassing women through WhatsApp messages.
The agency seized several mobile phones during these operations. Investigators also recovered private information belonging to the affected women from the suspects’ possession.
NCCIA Vows Continued Action Against Online Harassment
Additional Director Atif Amir confirmed the arrests and said authorities would continue targeting individuals involved in online blackmailing.
He stressed that the crackdown would continue without interruption. The agency aims to protect women from digital harassment, intimidation and the misuse of personal information.
Online blackmailing and the unauthorised circulation of private photographs and videos remain serious concerns. Such activities can damage victims’ reputations and expose them to further exploitation.
The latest arrests highlight the agency’s ongoing efforts to address cybercrime. Meanwhile, investigations into the cases are expected to establish further details about the suspects’ activities.
