Statement
The Islamabad Accountability Court has granted Nawaz Sharif permission to provide his statement in the Toshakhana case, with the court instructing that the response must be submitted by November 30.
During Monday’s hearing, Nawaz Sharif was not physically present but represented by his legal team. His lawyer, Qazi Misbah, emphasized that the reference had been filed in Nawaz Sharif’s absence, preventing him from recording his statement.

In addition, Misbah argued for the filing of a supplementary reference and urged the court to instruct the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to record Nawaz’s statement.
NAB’s prosecutor requested time to review the petitioner’s request, but the judge questioned the delay and directed NAB to proceed with recording the statement. Qazi Misbah stated that they would respond and provide a deadline once the questionnaire is provided.
Nawaz Sharif, Asif Ali Zardari, Yousaf Raza Gillani, Abdul Ghani Majeed, and Anwar Majeed attended the hearing through their legal representatives. In the previous court appearance, Nawaz Sharif surrendered and was granted bail against a surety of Rs 1 million.
Meanwhile, the court issued a notice to NAB concerning the petition for property confiscation and sought legal arguments.
In preparation for the November 21 hearing in the Avenfield and Al-Aziziya cases, Nawaz Sharif convened a meeting of his legal team in Murree to strategize for the forthcoming legal proceedings. Moreover, the former Prime Minister continues to navigate the intricacies of the legal landscape, with ongoing developments drawing attention to the complex nature of the cases against him.
