Weather Turned Cold As Parts Of Punjab Receive First Rain Of Winter Season
Some parts of Punjab on Thursday received the first rain of winter, causing the weather to turn cold.
Showers were reported in Lahore, Sahiwal, Jhang, Okara, Mian Channu, Makhdoompur, Pindi Bhattian, and Tabba Sultanpur, in addition to other locations in Punjab.
The smog has dissipated following a brief rain in some areas of Punjab.
The PMD forecasts a rain-thunderstorm with snow in the mountains of northern and western Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab, Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan in the next twelve hours.

After a long dry spell, a westerly wave has entered Northwestern parts of Balochistan & expected to grip upper and central parts of the country on December 28th (night) and may last until December 29th. As a result of this weather system:
Rain With Snowfall
Rain (with snowfall over the hills) is forecast for Quetta, Zhob, Barkhan, Ziarat, Nokkundi, Dalbandin, Harani, Qillah Saifullah, Qillah Abdullah, Chaman, Pishin, Gwadar, Jiwani, Turbat, Panjgur, Kalat, Khuzdar, Sibbi, Naseerabad, and Lasbella from December 27th (evening/night).
Light to Moderate Rain with Snowfall
Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Mardan, Peshawar, Charsadda, Bajaur, Kurram, Waziristan, Kohat, Sargodha, Islamabad, Murree, Galiyat, and Pothohar region are also expected to experience light to moderate rain (with snowfall over the hills) on December 28 (night).
Light Rain
Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Rahimyar Khan, and Bhakkar are also anticipated to experience light precipitation during this time.

*Rain will be beneficial to standing crops, particularly in Barani areas.
*During the forecast period, foggy conditions are expected to dissipate.
*During the wet spell, daytime temperatures are expected to drop to (05-07) °C.
