Two crushed to death under loaded container in Torkham road mishap

LANDIKOTAL: On Sunday, a container overturned at the Torkham border, leaving two people dead and seven others injured.

According to officials, the incident happened when the driver of a vehicle with a container mounted on it that was loaded with various export goods went to the border guards to obtain a gate pass to cross into Afghanistan, while the stranded vehicle started moving and crashed into the steel grill fixed along the exit point, dislodging the loaded container from the vehicle.

According to the officials, at least 10 people, including an Afghan child and FC personnel, were crushed under the massive container.

Rescuers claimed that after lifting the container, they were able to remove two bodies, both of which were citizens of Afghanistan.

The injured were then immediately transported to Landi Kotal hospital.

Four critically injured patients, all of whom were Afghans, according to hospital sources, were sent to Peshawar.
