Saudi Arabia Announces Start of Ramadan on March 11th

Saudi Arabian authorities have officially declared that the sacred month of Ramadan is poised to commence on Monday, March 11th, as determined by the sighting of the crescent moon, anticipated on the evening of Sunday, March 10th.

Dr. Sharaf Al-Safani, leading the Astronomy Department, affirms that the new moon’s visibility window in Makkah will span approximately 13 minutes after sunset. Subsequent to this celestial observation, testimonies confirming the crescent moon sighting will be officially registered in the Supreme Court, solidifying the commencement of Ramadan.
