Two individuals were killed in a shooting incident in Karachi on Sunday.
Religious leaders from diverse schools of thought have strongly denounced the violent incidents that occurred during a religious rally in the Golimar area of Karachi. They have called on the people of Karachi to thwart the agendas of the attackers.
The violence erupted near Lasbela when a procession of a religious group was targeted, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to eight others. The attack caused widespread fear and panic.
Maulana Aurangzeb Farooqi stated, “The perpetrators are attempting to disrupt Karachi’s peace.” He expressed confidence that law enforcement agencies will swiftly apprehend those responsible and urged the public to remain calm and prevent further unrest. Maulana Farooqi also called for a thorough and impartial investigation by the authorities.
Allama Syed Nazir Abbas Taqvi condemned the assault on the religious gathering and vowed to counter any attempts to sow sectarian discord. Similarly, Maulana Taj Hanfi criticized the violence against the religious procession, while Maulana Syed Shahenshah Hussain Naqvi condemned sectarianism, extremism, and unrest in the strongest terms.
