President’s Baisakhi greetings to Sikhs
President Asif Ali Zardari congratulated the Sikh community on the occasion of Baisakhi, as stated by the President’s Secretariat. In his message, he emphasized the importance of the event and its themes of love, happiness, peace, and affection.
The president stated, “Pakistan is proud of its rich cultural tapestry.” He emphasized Pakistan’s dedication to supporting the Sikh community’s well-being, promising to take all required actions to meet their requirements.
President Zardari reinforced Pakistan’s commitment to protecting the rights of all minorities, recognizing their significant impact on the country’s growth and advancement. In a notable event, 2,475 Sikh pilgrims traveled to Pakistan from India via the Wagah border to celebrate Khalsa Janam Din and participate in the Baisakhi Mela festivities on April 13th.
