Prime Minister Sharif calls for a detailed plan to enhance the country’s domestic Information Technology exports

Chairing a crucial summit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif focused on enhancing Pakistan’s information technology (IT) sector. The meeting’s primary objective was to develop effective strategies that would boost domestic IT exports and capitalize on the industry’s immense potential, estimated to be worth billions of dollars.

At the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif instructed the creation of a detailed plan to boost domestic IT exports, underlining the importance of leveraging the nation’s rapidly growing IT capabilities. He firmly stated,

“We will implement measures to maximize the potential of our IT exports, valued at billions of dollars.”

Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the significance of equipping young individuals with education and expertise in the IT field, as well as supporting startups by providing essential resources. He praised the advancements in IT projects during the previous administration, showcasing the favorable results.

Additionally, he announced the resolution of banking issues affecting startups, freelancers, and IT companies, thus fostering a prosperous atmosphere for the sector’s development.

Prime Minister Sharif praised the anticipated surge in IT exports, surpassing $3 billion this year, as a remarkable milestone for the nation. He underscored the significance of Special Technology Zones and ordered the development of a comprehensive report on the subject.

In his final statements, Sharif highlighted the importance of collaborative actions to uplift Pakistan’s IT sector to global standards, reaffirming his dedication to nurturing innovation and expansion within the industry.
