PMO’s expenses during Imran Khan’s regime totaled more than Rs900m

The Prime Minister Office (PMO) spent more than Rs900 million during the tenure of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan as Prime Minister from 2019 to 2021.

This data was included in a report on PMO expenses presented to the Senate on Tuesday by Shahadat Awan, Minister of State for Law.

During the meeting, Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani made a remark about how the former prime minister discussed riding a bicycle to work to save money, but instead chose to travel by state helicopter.

Senator Bahramand Khan Tangi noted at this point that Imran Khan spent approximately 900 million rupees from the PMO’s $1 billion budget during his administration.

Senator Shahzad Waseem responded by inquiring about the flood relief funds and how they were spent.

Awan stated that if a properly written question is submitted in accordance with the rules, it is irrelevant and that he will be happy to provide information about the flood relief funds and their allocation.
